Their servers are onsite in Vancouver, BC, so you will occasionally be required to physically tend to them.

You should have a strong operations background, and automation, infrastructure and Linux experience. This role is both hands-on, as well as architectural with a goal of optimizing infrastructure deployments.



What You'll Do

Work alongside your DevOps and engineering colleagues to ensure high availability and security for the world’s biggest events and brands
Build out architecture and automation
Dive deep and apply superb troubleshooting skills to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions via simplification and automation
Work with development teams to build and manage continuous integration/deployment
Work with internal stakeholders and external customers to achieve high availability, low latency, and high levels of security
Build and manage our Kubernetes/Container Orchestrations environment(s)
Support and build out their cloud computing infrastructure - including using Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, RackSpace and others
Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources
Develop appropriate metrics to demonstrate performance at improving operational efficiency
What You Bring

An experienced DevOps Professional, this is an intermediate position 3+ years required
You are driven to continuously improve systems and processes, you are passionate about automation and DevOps. This is not a role where you sit back and wait for tickets; they want people who feel a sense of ownership over their infrastructure.
Experience in a 24x7 production environment, especially one based on Linux
Several years of experience with AWS
Linux Experience with performance testing, tuning and monitoring
Experience with Python, PHP, and automation (Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible)
SQL experience (Postgres, MySQL)
Experience with Javascript / NodeJS
Knowledge of CI tools like Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, and Agile/Scrum development methodology

We’re flexible in how we work with mentors, and your schedule is structured according to how many hours you’re available for. Mentors are paid an hourly rate, and are able to work from any time zone. The hourly rate for mentors range from $40.00 - $55.00, depending on experience.

What we need from you:



The following qualifications are all important assets for aspiring mentors:



Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Cyber Security.

Experience in a range of popular technologies in Cyber Security.

Terminal Knowledge (Linux v. Microsoft) is a necessity
Knowledge in at least one of the following is a necessity: Python, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, C
A strong understanding of open source development workflows using tools such as Github

Any experience in teaching, mentoring, or tutoring is an asset.

Experience with front-end web development is an asset.
